Altered Jumbo playing cards

 So my Boomerang partner and I decided to embark on a long term swap altering playing cards. After lengthy discussions on what how when etc we agreed that we would each do two cards per month and we agreed on two loose "themes" . Carol chose  quotes and in the hope of giving myself a wide  field to play in, I chose alphabet...We may end on  pair of Zebra!  

So for my starting two quote cards I chose "Sometimes you just have to make your own sunshine"  and  "Courage is being yourself every day in a world that expects you to be someone else..."   

And since we agreed it made sense to start at A in the alphabet I decided on A is for Alice (in Wonderland)  which was made using decoupage, stamping and stencilling and B is for Butterfly  which has a pocket and the butterfly image is on a pull out specimen slide...the butterfly was stamped in black onto vellum so can be seen from both sides of the slide.

 I was quite pleased with how they turned out and our plan is to prepare four cards every two months  and to take it in turns to choose which alphabet to direct swap...so if I choose to  receive her A card I must send my A card to her and we each choose which of our partner's quote cards we would like to  receive. This format makes it doable with our other commitments and saves on postage. A win-win. Carol plans to store her cards in a handmade and decorated box. I have a box ready but had originally liked the idea of binding them into a book. When we have completed the entire pack I will decide.
