Faux Specimen cards

I joined in a swap in an online group and we had to make 5 "faux specimen slides" with a nature theme. They had be be like a transparent slide with the contents visible from both sides.

To make these I  die cut the bases from plain lightweight card and then stamped and inked them on both sides. For the smaller one I die cut two of the same frame for each slide. The larger ones I had to flip the die and run through again because they cut a window out on the front but were not "double sided". Then I grabbed a cello bag and cut from the edges of the bag to form open ended pockets just smaller than the die cut slides. I adhered one side of the poly bag to the back of the die cut and then arranged my chosen contents before sealing the top layer of poly bag with some glue before using glue to seal the slides completely.  I stamped some numbers or words, cut them to size, inked them and adhered them to the slide frames. Inside my specimen slides I used a paper leaf, two different sets of dried flowers, a stamped image of a bee and some feathers.

Its the first time I've ever done anything like this and it was fun. I enjoyed it and was pleased with how the first ever set came out. I will definitely make more of these in future.

Until next time
